Boulevard

Boulevard van Scheveningen

The best place in The Hague to stroll is of course the Boulevard of Scheveningen. After a lovely beach walk you can shop around the Palace Promenade seven days a week and enjoy good food. In addition to shops and nice eateries, there are numerous other attractions such as festivals, cultural events, markets, kids activities and concerts all year round.

Madurodam

This amusement park covers no less than 62,630 m2. On a scale of 1 in 25, almost all important buildings in the Netherlands and many more have been reconstructed. Here you will discover the best of the Netherlands. Always wanted to learn to fly? That is possible at Schiphol! And in the port of Rotterdam you can fill vessels with containers. Of course there is also room for children to romp about. For the little ones there is the Miffy playground.

Westbroekpark

Large playgrounds, ponds and watercourses, but what the Westbroekpark is most known for, is the beautiful rose garden. Between June and the end of October, 25,000 rose bushes bloom on about 350 beds. You can also enjoy a Chinese wok restaurant and tea room De Waterkant. For a few euros you rent a rowboat with which you can sail around the park.

De Fred

For nearly one kilometer of unique shopping pleasure visit the Frederik Hendriklaan – or De Fred – you for short. You will be surprised by the variation in the range of over 130 stores. There are many specialized entrepreneurs in the fields of fashion, leisure, living, eating and drinking, hobby, traveling and much more. Walk into bookstore Paagman at number 217, where you will find an extensive range of (English) books. Do you care about the wellbeing of animals which were raised in a good environment? Then visit Marqt for your daily groceries at the Marqt at number 87. In between, you can enjoy a delicious lunch at Pastanini at number 79.

Scheveningse Bosjes

The best playground in The Hague is in De Scheveningse Bosjes! Take a well-stocked picnic basket to this forest and unwind yourself while the children let off steam in the sand playground with various play equipment, climbing trees, swings, sand diggers and a wooden castle.

AFAS Circustheater

Over the past twenty years, legendary musicals such as The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon, Elisabeth, Aida, The Sound of Music, The Lion King, Tarzan, Ciske the Rat, Mary Poppins, Sister Act, Billy Elliot and Beauty and the Beast millions of visitors. The AFAS Circus Theater is a concept in The Hague, the Netherlands and far beyond.

Haags Gemeentemuseum

The largest collection of paintings by Piet Mondriaan in the world, an outstanding silver collection, meticulously decorated Delftware and interactive Wonderrooms in the famous building by architect Berlage. The Haags Gemeentemuseum is always worth a visit! In addition to the permanent collection, there are changing exhibitions.

In addition to the center for fish trade, Scheveningen Haven is also the place where many special restaurants and eateries are located. The view of the marina, the activity of the fish market and the fresh sea air provide a unique place in the Netherlands for dining. The best known restaurant is probably Simonis on the Visafslagweg, a real experience for young and old. At the more luxurious little brother, Catch by Simonis, a little further in the marina you can eat the tastiest oysters and lobster. Waterproef is also highly recommended because of the refined French cuisine with Mediterranean and Asian influences, the award winning wine list, the casual service and the unique location.
